19. fan set terug monteren
20. boven en achter plaat terugmonteren, connectors weer terugplaatsen
21. en even testen

When cables are (intermittent) broken in the cable chain (as the heater cartridge cable, the thermistor cable, and sometimes the motor cable) it’s best to replace the complete cable chain. But it’s also possible to replace only one cable.
The next guide helped a lot of people already:

  • Power off the craftbot
  • Remove the top plate and back plate, make sure the connectors of the LED light and fan are disconnected before you have the plates completely removed (otherwise you get bend connectors, as I had the first time)
  • See this post https://www.craftbot.nl/2015/09/06/als-de-extruder-volledig-verstopt-is/ for disassembly at the extruder: (of course only for the image for unscrewing the heater as well the cable fasteners under the extruder.
  • Loosen the two screws on top of the fanset to remove the fan assembly and disconnect the connector.
  • Remove the thermistor gently from the hotend. The heater cartridge is fastened with a small hex bolt. Unscrew it with the flat side of a new Allen key (it’s damaged easily with the rounded side of the Allen key) .
  • Unscrew the arm that carries the cable chain (4 bolts)
  • Loosen the cable chain segments with a flat head screw driver of the endcaps, or unscrew the endcaps. There is 1 near the extruder, 2 in the nod of the carrier arm and the 4th at the left back steppermotor.
  • Loosen the left rear steppermotor so that the opening to get the cables through will become accessible
  • Loosen the relevant connectors on the circuit board, compare them with the new connectors and write their name on the new connectors .
  • Unscrew the X end-switch of the extruder. The mounting plate and screws to be reused.
  • Divide the new cable chain in two pieces, similar to the existing cable chain
  • Mount the new cable chain. Reuse the endcaps by mounting them again, or force the new cable chain to ‘click’ in the endcaps. You have to start with assembling the cable chain from the extruder towards the Circuit Board
  • Make sure there is enough space in the cables their self at the hotend, so items as the heater cartridge and fans can be mounted easily. .Otherwise, you’ll need to disassemble the whole cable chain again to get some more length in cables to mount components at the extruder as they should.
  • The heatercables stripped a little and best soldered so they get a good connection when screwed in the green connector
  • Connect the other cables to the circuit board. Check twice that you connect the components to the right connector on the circuit board (they are coded with lines and dots).
  • Remount the arm of the cable chain
  • Remount the steppermotor at the left, and be sure the timing belts are on the right tension by pushing the steppermotor backwards.
  • Mount the X end switch as well the extruder motor connector.
  • As in the previously mentioned “hotend post”: push the thermistor (grey with a little glass dot) deep in the hole, and push the heater cartridge back again, securing it with the grub screw (best to replace it with a new one),
  • Mount the cable fastener again. After securing the cable fastener, check if the cables (especially the thermistor) cannot move, otherwise that will trigger error messages.
  • Mount the fan set and connect the connector
  • Mount the top and back plate as well the connector for the LED lights and fan.
  • And test all
